Thanks to everyone who provided their feedback via our post-conference questionnaire!<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-vivid-red-background-color has-vivid-red-color\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">VIRTUAL GLOW 43<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by other similar initiatives, and in particular the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.umass.edu\/cuny2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">virtual implementation of CUNY 2020<\/a>, we have decided to <strong>turn the conference online and virtualize GLOW 43 &#8211; the main colloquium, the poster session, and the workshops<\/strong>. This way, &nbsp;we very much hope to give your work the outlet it deserves, and to offer an interactive event with much of the same content we have planned at present. While we probably all agree that an online conference experience will never replicate a face-to-face interaction, it is not difficult to find positive aspects to it:<strong> more accessibility, openness, carbon-neutrality and no participation fees<\/strong>. The scientific community probably has a lot to win in learning how to promote scientific exchanges through online platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-vivid-red-background-color has-vivid-red-color\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>The 43rd <a href=\"https:\/\/glowlinguistics.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Generative Linguistics in the Old World (GLOW)<\/a> conference will take place (virtually) at the Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin from April 8th to 20th, 2020.&nbsp;<br>In addition to the main session, there will be three thematic workshops:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/glowlinguistics.org\/43\/workshops\/prosody\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Workshop I: Prosody in Speech Signal, Perception, and Gestures<\/a><br>Organized by Marzena Zygis and Stefanie Jannedy (ZAS Berlin)<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/glowlinguistics.org\/43\/workshops\/semantic-universals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Workshop II: Semantic Universals in the Modal and Attitudinal Domain<\/a><br>Organized by Uli Sauerland (ZAS Berlin) and Wataru Uegaki (University of Edinburgh)<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/glowlinguistics.org\/43\/workshops\/remarks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Workshop III: Remarks: the Legacy<\/a><br>Organized by Artemis Alexiadou (Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin &amp;  ZAS Berlin) and Hagit Borer (Queen Mary University London)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For the main colloquium, which will include a poster session as well, scholars are invited to submit unpublished papers within all areas of generative linguistics. Submissions on phonological topics are especially welcome.
