GSS1 will take place from Monday April 7 until Friday April 11, 2014. It will take place at the same venue as the GLOW Main Colloquium – more information.
Theories in Dialogue
The general theme of GSS1 is “Theories in Dialogue”. The main idea is to approach the same topic from two different theoretical angles, thus creating a dialogue between the two theories. These dialogues will be organized in the form of two consecutive classes—taught by different teachers—each day during an entire week. The topics and teachers for GSS1 are as follows:
- Modelling learnability (computational linguistics)
- Charles Yang (University of Pennsylvania) | Read more
- Antal Van den Bosch (Radboud University Nijmegen) | Read more
- Islands (syntax)
- Norvin Richards (MIT) | Read more
- Philip Hofmeister (Essex University) | Read more
- Pronouns (morphosyntax and semantics)
